I just tried the WRITE CAL with the .BIN i pulled off it before i started doing anything... And car started and ran as normal...With VATS off

That's ok. Did you do a get bin before you tried writing the new cal?

No, I only did 1 (after i turned VATS off - car running good) But before i tried to apply you're tuned BIN.
I also did 5 GET BIN before i turned VATS off, RIght after i plugged it in for the first time ever.
Other than that, I have not done any other GET BIN's on this new spare PCM.

As long as you got one before the no start problem you will have some usable data.

Even if i do a write BIN before cloning? Then clone later?
Maybe it would be safer for me to do some work, See the differences you made to the BIN via the difference tool.
And try make those changes myself to the working bin. Just try match what you did with the timing and AFR's.
Manually enter all the differences i see.
That way everything still works, But im making the changes that i have been wanting.
Could this work?

You could always write a stock holden bin later on. Enhanced code is the one you want.

So you mean, Still go ahead and write that BIN you wrote VIA WRITE BIN.
Then later on, Just write back a stock bin then clone as normal?
So even though it sais 'DO NOT write bin if you need to clone' Wont really matter because later on i just write back a stock tune and the PCM will be like i never wrote Bin in the first place because its back as it was?
I was just thinking, If i have a working backup BIN, I can pretty much do whatever i want, And if it does not work i can always fall back on that backup BIN i saved.
Or once you write bin, You can then never clone that PCM no matter what?

I've never flashed these late model one's myself. Are they cheap?
Worst case throw the old one back in and drive to the wreckers?
Ive never even read up on doing this. But when I write a new bin to my NVRAM it says the same warning.
Ive done that plenty of times.

You don't really need to clone your spare PCM.
If it all goes wrong you just copy your factory PCM then do a write bin to the spare PCM, then write cal section that you took from the spare PCM originally back to it then it will have all the settings it had before it went south bar the security stuff. you can leave vats on then.
Is The1's enhanced code for use with the ls6 MAF ??

That's what I think just write the new bin.
