Has been a long time since updates here but have finally started to get some road time. So far things seem to be behaving themselves and have been getting a rough tune in using 11P. Gearbox shifting on its own is a nice change from the old steering wheel buttons. Gave it a quick blast today, the manifold sure does get restrictive!

Have put all the interior back together now, most things are green back lit with a mix of white LED. The MTX-L needs to be pulled apart still

nice man, the best part of all the work is being enjoyed!
and its also about time you get to do some tuning of your own, all this work on $11 & 12P and you don't get to do much personal tuning of them!

Installed a festy knock board (
http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic. ... 820#p18897) sometime back and have only just recently started to look at setting it up. Managed to make it fit on an NVRAM board..

And installed in the PCM..

So far it seems to pick up some counts when driving around, but need to fine tune the knock filter settings to try and stop any false knock (just using the default settings with the freq set for a 87.5mm bore). This is a log from 11P which handles knock a little different to 12P, the top monitor dark blue line shows the knock counts. A change in value indicates there was some activity, it makes it much harder to miss counts if they occurred between logging packets.

So far so good, knock filtering using the factory Toyota sensor. Nice work festy

Been getting some more driving in and setting things up. So far the engine has been running really well with the ignition module running perfectly.
But I have been chasing the very average wideband readings. Bottom monitor red trace is the wideband. Holding 2nd gear to get some revs to make sure there is a heap of exhaust gas, shows a steady injector BPW in light blue but wideband spikes and generally unstable....

Of course, suspecting the ignition system first then the 11P code. Spent ages on the bench, scope on the car, timing light etc. First thoughts were a misfire is happening but cant hear or feel anything. Swapped the sensor to the other bank in case it was a vac leak or exhaust leak but got the same results. So set the MTX-L up to output a constant 2.5V or 15.0:1 AFR and went for a drive to check if its just the infamous analog offset problem.....

Not great but software filters it out nicely with the logger analog input (bottom monitor, red is filtered logger input and blue is the raw). But its no where near as bad as the jumpy crap in the first picture.
So started to suspect the MTX-L. Hooked up the LM1 in the opposite bank and went for another lap....

Bottom monitor red is MTX-L and blue LM1. For the most part there is not a huge difference in AFR between each bank but the variation of the MTX-L makes it hard to tune

Looks like a 14point7 spartan is on my shopping list!
Log and ADX with both widebands installed is here if anyone wants to check it out.

when did you purchase your mtx-l ? Another one with issues. Have you tried seperating the heater lines?

I have a spartan and it works great, only thing i can fault was it took over 5 weeks to arrive, if your in a rush may be ask him if he has a quicker way to ship it than his normal way
