What alternator are you using?

VR V6 .. basically it sits about 1/2 in further forward to a 202 alternator so I just fabbed the right offset mount, top uses the original mount just on the back of the alternator and the rest lines up perfectly with my serpentine pulley on the crank

water pump is VT V8 pulley with 12mm from memory spacer under it and a long shaft water pump.

I wanted something newer with more amps output and also I was originally planning to run an eaton M90 blower with the serpentine belt so that was what got me started on that path!

I might do the same, I just finish making my bracket for the stock one too.
Time too redo it again.

So as you know I've been running VL400's ignition module with 6 x ls2 coils and 36 - 1 crank trigger, and for the most part it's all been working pretty nicely on the old 202. But I wanted to get more info as did VL400 to see if when the engine was missing if this was in fact being caused by the ignition module or not ...

So I asked the question about weather the data logger had the ability to log the ignition module and the 808 at the same time ... And of course in typical VL400 style, he scratched his head and thought up a plan that should work!!!

So while my engine was out getting a service I sent all my gear over to him, which I have just received back today, and after initial tested and one or two teeth/config issues it seems that he has been able to achieve a very satisfactory outcome!!

The end result is my ignition module and ECM are now both on the serial data bus and the logger is able to log packets from each in sequence to give me logs of everything in one!!!

So if nothing else it will give VL400 more info from the ignition modules and for both of us, an insite as to weather it is in fact the source of any issues or not!!

VL400 is the man.

He is the only one that can fluently read the deco matrix

bit of an update on the logging situation.

got the ignition module and ecm wired in and linked with aldl data, and wired the serial port for the logger into it along with power and ground, and this now also means I can switch the logger on and off separately to the rest of the car, this now means I have no more excuses of not saving logs

I've tested it last night with logging at 11.7hz of the ecm and ignition module together and all seems happy!

so this sunday at Sydney drags will be the big official "real world test" and hopefully see if I can also get a full power run over the entire 1/4 and that 10 that's been teasing me the last few outings!!

What ignition module parameters do you want to log?
