If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem
Re: DELCOS NEW RIDE
It's time to fit a solid spacer & shims, instead of the crush tube.

Must be making a mess of the pinion bearings if the crush tube is letting go!

Re: DELCOS NEW RIDE
yeah i agree, machine up a solid 'non-crush tube'
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: DELCOS NEW RIDE
Yup solid tube and shims for sure. Might be worth looking into the bearings being used too - it must be making some hellish torque! Where do you find 3.89's this side of the ditch? Very interested - i have some 4.11's i robbed out of a VL wagon a mate wrecked but i fear they will have me leaning on my motor a bit much but 3.89's & third gear would be about ideal.
Build it, Race it, Break/Bend it ; Repeat.
Re: DELCOS NEW RIDE
3.89s are typically ex-pintara gears

Re: DELCOS NEW RIDE
The 3.91 (replaced the 3.89, some fault with whining or such) is available in the R31 Skyline six cylinder 3.7 manual and 3.91 auto if I recall correctly, the 4.11 is 4 cyl Pintara. Seen a few around and currently have a set in my Torana
I'm not directly disagreeing with the solid crush tube idea but if you only had axle problems with the diff before and now its suddenly got pinion issues it doesn't sound like its been set up correctly

Re: DELCOS NEW RIDE
Now the T5's the weak link eh? hate that buts always a sign your making plenty of power when you keep breaking shit behind it
Makes me think i'll stick with my 3.08:1 gears and 2nd
