honestly if your looking at $75+ for a memcal then get one of VL400s realtime boards, yeah sure you pay a bit more for it but then you have everything you need to dod what you want now and if you want to go realtime then all you need is an aldl interface.

Thats right but I wasn't planning to purchase an ECM from the wreckers...and if you could have seen it...you wouldn't have wired it to a wheelbarrow..VL400 SVRAM board sounds and looks great....didn't want to be a pest and trying to find a less obtrusive way of doing things...but it is an option I am keeping open at the moment...

Just been reading the thread regarding the placement of O2 sensors in the exhaust system before and after the cat....beyond the cat mostly due to adr requirements and emissions. The following is one of the links I have used in learning about EFI and engine management, probably fairly basic for most members but helpful for those trying to understand more about engine manement systems and sensors...

Thanks to Dec_head, Holden202 and Delcowizid for the tips, hints and advice on the roof lining issue I had....fixed for the moment, used both bigger staples and spray adhesive around the edges...working well!!
Had a few problems during the week....extra body in the garage I could have done without...

as i understand it, 0 knock = high octane map .... then the more it knocks the more it goes back to the low octane map .... but as you say if they are the same it does nothing ....
when i was running the 98 octane changed spark i was only running it in the high octane map with the low octane map having the stock numbers in it, so if i did get knock it could pull the timing back to 91 friendly and i just logged it to see where it was knocking and just slightly pulled the high octane map back in those areas.
nice pet you got there

Thanks for the info guys…..as for the snake, I think he will have to be named….appears to have taken up residence nearby and visits frequently!!

…luckily he seems friendly enough and keeps the four legged hors d’oeuvre under control….gets much closer to the car though and it will become the new security system.…so vats it is

....
