This is probably the direction I'm heading in. With my fucked shoulder I can't do any heavy work at all now and I refuse to sit in a office. I spent the first part of my life working in factories/indoors and doing shift work and I hate it now, there is nothing worse.

I know a few people that are stuck in jobs they hate. And I say the same thing. Why don’t ya save up, and give ya self a window to get trained up in a different field. But they all say nah I’m too old. And even if I did that, who would hire me? Normally it’s because there confidence levels are so low due to health issues.

Plus ya get stuck in the same old routine, and comfortable. Sometimes it’s scary venturing off into the unknown

Yup. I hung onto my old job way to long, it's contributed to the decline of my shoulder to the point I need a full shoulder replacement/reconstruction. But it was comfortable as you say and I wanted my payout to leave.

Even working on cars is difficult some days, the shoulder limits my time and where/how I do things.

I'm trying to teach myself to use the other arm now as I've had enough surgeries and I'm putting off the replacement as long as possible.

Hopefully soon I'll have a spare room at home so I can set up a proper work station to get back into programming and electronics as well as CAD and 3D printing etc. Then a part time job driving to pay for my toys and retirement and other fun things as I'm mortgage free thanks to my redundancy.

Then I can get back to playing with my Rescue VT. I have a mig welder, a turbo and lots of time.

I've got a few little projects underway. A alternator relocation bracket to suit VT-VY V6. I've designed the bracket and made wood mockups for testing but now I need to create a a CAD file so I can get it manufactured and a smart electric WP controller as there is nothing available that does what I want. Going to use Arduino to prototype and then create make a proper little controller with PCB etc. I just need a decent work station....

Yeah I was looking into getting things cast over in China. Think it’s like min 100 orders. Never inquired to get a quote though. Same thing with Arduino’s and getting pcb boards made up. I think we are definitely going to need to think outside the box moving forward as a car community. Especially with the way things are going

The comment that Biggvl made about the drain being a very valid comment, was something I thought about. I haven’t even got under there to try fit a turbo up in there yet. But I do know the starter motor is in the way. So I started google Ecotec blocks and starter motor locations just to view the pics. And then started thinking well I can make up an adapter bracket and possibly use an ls bellhousing . That was even before those comments. Now that he said that, I bet it’s gunna bite me ya fucken jinxed me
