So I set the top end at 12.8 AFR and also backed off the timing 2% as there was evidence of detonation on the plugs but not sure if that from the previous tune.

So I cleaned a plug til shiney like new, did a 20K run, pretty hard.

looks ok to me. porcelain has a bit of grey and tan and the ring of the casing a brown colour. Strap although already set from the previous running shows the plating discolored to the bend, just slightly past.

Still goes pretty good, the VE table is now quite stable.

Borrowed the inverse charge term from the ANPX tune and bits from the run AFR offset and time decay of the V8 tune.

The inverse term probably could take a tweak but the AFR only creep up 0.2-0.3 in the low end speed areas where the charge temps go as high as 85ºC compared to areas at higher loads with temps of low 40-50s

in other news, I spent yesterday and today trying to scrounge up replacement brakes for the front as my brakes got to metal on metal on Thursday. Still some pad left but not much on the rotors lol. Those QFM pads are aggressive

So I found old rotors from quite a few years ago in the dirt in the garden, got them cleaned up and machined, new pads on Friday and new bearings and machining today. No rotors in stock at short notice and being a town like this, no hope finding anything. So glad I made it all work for now.

I think its time I ask for this company car they said I'd get lol.

Tbe APNX is ftbat the early VN tune? If so that charge them table is the go. Even works better on the V8.
The early HSV V8 tunes had a colder lpwer part of the table compared to the VR. Not sure on the Holden V8 tunes in VN.

I have all the different tables done up in a spreadsheet side by side. Have to have a look.

yeah the BLCD inverse table is really messed up in the top end. if you have a lumpy cam the reversion at low rpm heats up the MAT well up into the 100s and makes the AFRs really rich based on that table and of course that throws out the VE table or at least makes it hard to dial in from the constant tail chasing.

Had all the jig points drilled at tapped for use of flat response knock senors for when I hit the dyno. Much better spots than using the back of the heads.

Not too keen on reusing the old mini welsh plugs as they are an odd size and hard to get, So im looking at making some alloy solid plugs 14.75 x 8.5mm and bang them in with some loctite and peen the edges over like original, the cam thrust place also covers them so be a solid solution over using old loose welsh plugs.

Everything balanced easy to 50% except the excedy cover which needed a weight welded to it lol. That might be Biggvl's complaint on them vibrating haha. Anyway, all good now.

Duggan's installed King bearings for the rods and cam, ACL duraglide for the mains. Good stuff!

Had the block decked, bored 20 over, honed, tanked, line honed. Crank polished, rods resized and ARPs, balanced to 50%. New bearing all round. Fully blue printed and labeled for assembly.

Owes me $1800 odd for all the work and supplied parts. Not bad at all really.

Vlad,

I asked earlier and you said you'd get back to me.

Is Warren still at Duggan Balancing?

Thanks.
