Old motor used to rev to 6800-7000, hoping for another 500rpm out of this new one!

been doing a few things that don't really have much to show for it, like running taps through head bolts holes and such....

but I also got a few other things done, first off was putting a bolt into a hole in the block, then cutting it off and drilling/tapping it out to suit a smaller hole so I can mount the knock sensor in a spot I believe should be the best option.

it should be far enough away from the exhaust to not cause any issues, and its almost in the middle of the block front to rear, so best I can do really.

also did some smoothing of the oil pump ports, more so the pressure side (left of pic), it was basically a machined section with a big step in it so I smoothed it into a nice funnel and also took the hole out to match the gasket where I could ... not sure it will make too much difference, but it can't hurt.

hopefully Tuesday arvo will take it to get deck machined and pistons if time allows.

haha 7000 rpm will sound nice we have a cam to go 8000rpm but cant get the thing to rev clean past 4500 no wonder we are going slow we thought it was reving sounded like it was but it isnt.think dizzy or ignition module has taken a shit the longer the engine runs the slower it gets LOL

yeah previous cam revved to almost 7000, about 6500-6800 was best shift point, but this one should do 7500 ..... im not sure i want to rev a 202 much past that!

when you say it wont rev do you mean it breaks up or just stops revving ?
