Connecting to a VS V6 ECM for ALDL logging

Hi all,
I have got myself a RS232 interface for 8192 Aldl logging, however, so far, i cannot find a step by step on how to connect it. IE, i saw somewhere on here that pins need to be earthed etc to put the ecm into aldl mode. is this right?? Also, Im using tuner pro v5 at present just to get things underway. Ive looked through the basic aldl stuff, but need mroe specific info how to set up.
Any help would be great!
Ev.

I got it from VL400, the instructions call it a Comms MArk II board. Now, after some experimenting, I found that the red TX LED on the board would start to flash, and when it does, i can connect and monitor with Tunerpro V5. I still have not worked out the correct way to make it connect, as sometimes, I can start the motor and no flashing TX LED, at this point I cannot connect, but then at some stage it starts to flash, there must be a procedure for this im sure, but anyway, at least i got to see it working.
So, armed with a little new info which is dangerous im sure, I can now see from the transmission dash, that the TCC Engaged indicator is working as I would expect. However, the TCC is definately not locking. Is there a way to see what the PWM controller is doing, as I cant seem to see this in the Trans Dash.
When i ground the TCC enable AND TCC PWM lines, it locks up.
So, i tried another ECM just to eliminate any faulty transistor outputs.... Same trouble.
Is there a way to see what the PWM side of things is up to??

In a VS you should see very limited data (ie no LEDs flashing) on the bus when not logging - there will be some activity as you turn the key on (VATS) and then low speed fan messages while running.
Are you using the ADX called "Vs V6 engine and trans 1.07-tp5.adx.zip" from here ..

That ADX has the RS232 echo flag cleared so depending on the jumper on the comms board may need to set that. Otherwise its just a matter of loading the ADX, then hitting connect with the key on or engine running.
