G'day everyone,
A newbie to the forum, and as you can see by my username, a rodder as well.
I am building an old Ford that I have fitted with a VS V6 + auto trans from a wrecked 97 VS Exucutive sedan. The steering column has also been fitted, as I want to retain the functionality of the ke-fob/central locking and make use of the electric window connections within the commodore door wiring loom.
What mod's do I need to make to the PCM to get this combo to work in this situation?
I understand that the BCM controls the security functionality, and that it allows the PCM to fire the EFI side of the house once the key is 'recognised'.
The plan is to use a set of aftermarket gauges (with the old style look), and to only use those wires needed in the dash loom to power them up.
Any tips on this would be a great help
Cheers, 28 Ford

Re: Advice needed for V6 conversion
i'm pretty sure the BCM controls the power windows too, you'll have to run it to make everything work properly.
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Your right Holden202. Lows do nothing, then MID will control your power windows.
Re: Advice needed for V6 conversion

Re: Advice needed for V6 conversion
I love your work. I do have a question then. Whats the difference between HI and LUX?
Re: Advice needed for V6 conversion
it's low/mid/hi lux
mid vs hi lux, berlina/calais statesman have extra features like auto headlight off, variable wiper speed, power antenna even optional variable power steering and other stuff.

Thanks The1. Cleared that up for me.

Hey guys,
thanks for the help with this one.
I have started drawing up my own schematic of the loom using the GM colour codes (to save confusion),
I'll update this thread once I get it sorted
Thanks again,
Cheers, Pete
