Attacked the spare ECU over the past few days. Have removed almost all of the potting now and got thoroughly smashed on fumes from the Methyl Ethyl Ketone, when it says to use in a well ventilated area make sure you do! It uses a 32bit M32R processor, has some pretty serious specs! Some pics are here of what the ECU now looks like .. http://yamahaecu.wikispaces.com/ECU+Har ... nformation

Hi guys I would like to bring this topic back to life as it has some very useful information.

I am trying to further develop what VL400 did and need help. I did manage to get his files to work with Tunerpro and all looks good so he was on the right track.

The issue I am having is trying to decode other variables.

Example: I am trying to understand how to request and decode the VIN and DTC codes. I am using original YDS scan tool to sniff logs.

Baud is 9600.

See attached txt file of requesting the VIN.

Can anybody help me decode this?

Thanks

If the vin is in those packets, view it as ascii and I expect you'll see it somewhere. Replay the request to get the responses to decode it from.
