setting up w/b input with resistor in b12

picked this up nifty little jigga from jaycar today. vl400 reckons try hooking up wideband with a resistor inline 100k then 10k.
its a stepped variable resistor, hopefully i can install it inline starting at a high value and dial it back until i get a reading in tp, all without blowing up my w/b preferably.

and would be appreciated if someone can confirm this is the correct wire, b12 injector voltage monitor.

i have a feeling from memory this is a VX ?
i've just had a look in some wiring info i have and from what i can see vt = b12, vx and xy are c14 ?
vy s/c v6 b12 is injector monitor
vy n/a v6 b12 is high speed cooling fan and it looks like it is the ground side so i can't see how either would fry the WB.....
confirm what model car you have etc to make sure please.

202 the model is vx supercharged 2000 series 1.
The help is much appreciated mate, im kinda pissing in the wind tuning with no w/b logs.

well i don't actually have a wiring diagram for any VX's but according to VY S/C V6 B12 is the injector monitor line.
also this is the file im using, Sheet 12

Yep i couldnt find any wiring diagrams for vx, but ryan was pretty sure its the same a s vy, so ill have a crack. Like you said there shouldnt be any way it can fry the wideband any way, especially with a resistor. Im thinking maybe my last w/b fritzed coincidentaly maybe i crossed one of the wires for dimming function whilst wiring and blew the display but was still functioning , dunno either way they replaced it for me.

i finally have w/b logging working sweet as in tp. backed the resistor of to 1k ohm where there is no difference between the mtx display and the wide band in tp, seems very accurate. so now i have a 1k resistor inline. my theory is the 1k ohm is enough to stamp out the small voltage (0.050 ish)that was coming from the b12 wire which i suspect may have fied some thing, but not enough to make a noticeable error in tp display. unlikely, but thats the theory im sticking to.
