Computer connectors

Post by antus »

Desktop computers are not that far removed from engine computers in what they are, so thought i'd upload this here. Useful for IDing old or new hardware!

Cool find

Don't know about anyone else, but looking at those old 30 pin SIMMS, 8 bit ISA slots and socket 1 boards brings back a lot of bad memories :(

the SIPPS bring back scary memories :D

i'm a bit annoyed there isn't a picture of a VESA Video Card :D although it probably would have taken the whole length of that image to show it hahaha

Ahh yeah VESA, now that was a cool standard just because it was so huge! I spent so many hours playing doom 2 on my 486dx4/100 with a tseng labs ET4000/W32P Vesa card... sooooo fast in its day. Did some crazy amount of 'characters per second' in the benchmarks at the time. But this trident one looks more impressive because it includes the 16bit end of the ISA connector unlike many of the VESA cards
