Not sure if this is the right place for this but was thinking about how it would go using a ecu as a standalone transmition controller? Alot of people put in the t700 because of the cost of a transmition controller.
I would think you would only need a tps and/or maby just a vss? Standard loom stripped down with just a tail to hook up power to the ecu and the trans side of things. Any ideas how i could get rid of the tps use and just work pressures and ect with the vss?
Fully programmable shift points and pressures ect would be a handy feature for an older car

I have thought about writing custom code for this but it is on the back burner at the moment.
Engine speed is another input that is fairly important to the operation of the software.
TPS could potentially be replaced with manifold pressure (which is obviously a lot easier to retrofit to an older car)

If there is enough interest I may be persuaded look into it a bit more seriously.
I was thinking of also including features like:
- "flappy paddle" style shift inputs
- extra shift mode switch inputs allowing selection of different shift profiles
- hold mode to delay upshift on throttle release
Removal of the engine code allows higher calculation rates which would be handy for shift kitted boxes.

Also looked at this awhile ago using a VR or later PCM. It shouldn't be too hard to rip out the engine code and compile it to well under 64k to allow off the shelf tools to work.

Was just talking about a transmition controller using the code and masks already available but this sounds 100times better! So like the vz style paddle shift? If only i wasnt half way through doing my c10 auto.

not quite as cheap and plentiful as VT V6 PCMs though

Vary true im thinking of forking the cash to run 12p with boost and haveing the onthe fly line pressure and temp is handy* paddle shift

Megasquirt have an option I am planning on running about $300 not too bad
