blocked the pcv in the manifold and put a oil catch can/breather on the vent in the valley

When you say the vent on the valley do you mean at the back of the inlet manifold that connects to throttle body via 1/2" hose? What did you use to block off pcv?

Cheers

there is one inside the manifold, the actual PCV valve. its the big 17mm? plug near the thermostat.

It vents the valley area directly into the manifold from the inside.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

yeah so how it works is the one at the back that connects to the throttle body is unrestricted air from the air filter into the crankcase (drawn in from the PCV), then the PCV valve is in the front under the bolt beside the thermostat as said above, so basically the one on the throttle body just pumps whatever boost you are running straight into the crankcase.

so we put a breather / catch can onto it, and then blocked off the Throttle body side of it. then we removed the pcv valve and flattened the end on it, but i have also heard that the v6 sprintcar boys block them with a welsh plug then put a breather on the back of the manifold ....

i'd say this is going to be a standard mod for anyone boosting a V6 :) and i think in the case of an ecotec if you split the upper and lower inlet manifold the PCV is in there under a spring .... and i had a feeling there was a breather into the inlet tract somewhere too but i can't recall....

from memory, the poor mans ecotec mod is to block that hole off with a 10 or 20 c piece :D
