I wouldn't use acrylic for door cards - I wouldn't use it for anything inside a track car.
Acrylic shatters into sharp bits, so a decent hit on the door could put an acrylic shard through your body.
I know CAMS doesn't allow acrylic windows, but not sure about it's use in other areas.
Polycarbonate (lexan) is much safer - but not as cheap as free offcuts :?

VX i hoping around march april.
No racing involved just having fun and timing yourself etc.....racing turns into a money pit.

Festy, believe me i'm with you on this. just drilling the stuff with pressure causes cracking and i hesitated to even put it on the doors, especially on the drivers door
as thats the first thing on my mind (shattering).CAMS makes no mention of using it anywhere else except the windows.
I cut them out and mounted them anyway and will use them as templates for either masonite, plywood, possibly a thin metal sheet (even metal is a worry)as 202T suggested.
I'm just weary of what damage can be caused on the drivers side.

yeah i guess in my line of racing if i bend the door i reckon thats going to be the last thing i worry about hahaha but its a bit different in circuit cars.

mind you if you have a cage with a X in the door and also the side intrusion bars that are in new commodores its a fair amount of protection.

Or thick cardboard, covered in contact would make a decent door card.
Some people suggest the stuff real estate signs are made out of, but it's a bit too flammable for my liking.

its called corflute.

3mm black forex would be better choice, routes supper easy , pretty strong and since its PVC I don't think its that flammable.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.
