That article said he's using the Lada Niva DIS - is that the same as the D1927A?
Interesting that he's running 9 psi with no engine mods, I've started work on turbocharging mine and am planning on staying at around 4-5 psi which will hopefully save me having to immediately throw money at the engine/transaxle/clutch etc...

Yeah, thats the module, the D1927a. From what ive seen most stock engines are good at around that level of boost, its 10+ psi where stock gaskets start letting go.

Yeah I'm running that module too - I just didn't realize the Nivas used them (or any AU car).
Otherwise I wouldn't have had to pay a fortune in postage to bring one in from the US
I'm not worried about the engine taking boost - it's that upgraded clutches etc are expensive, and I don't want to start down the path of breaking something in the drivetrain every time I take it out.

Might have to see if you can adapt a cheaper performance clutch than the alfa one (one of my mates has alfas he's constantly broke due to their expensive parts), just try not to break the gearbox lol

the lada niva isnt aussie, kalmaker.com.au used to import them and sell them via their site for more than you would have paid.

Ahh, that explains it

I didn't think the Ladas had that module here, their EFI system was apparently so bad that Brocky made a small fortune stripping the electrics out and fitting Haltechs to the Ladas as they came off the boat at one point

the Lada Nina is Russian. I had a Lada Samara once as a sort of paddock basher.

Sorry I meant "AU market" as in a car that was sold here - not that the Niva was an Australian built car
