hi all
if someone feel like lending me a hand over here
http://www.ozgemini.com/forums/tech/vie ... hp?t=19033
it would be great

one of the guys wrote

Delco ECU model 1227808 is 160 baud but can be bumped up to a 8192 baud rate simply by adding a 10Ω resistor between ALDL terminals A & B on the service plug. Wink
Cost: around $0.15 last time I grabbed one at Jaycar.

that is not true is it ????? well every thing i have read over the years tells me its not

cheers mick

If only it was as easy as that, aside from the hardware in the '808 missing the 8192baud stuff the software in the ECM needs to be changed too. And for 4cyl using a camira module that becomes a problem...

cool thanks for that

would i be right in saying the 082 ecu has the bits for 8192
but the code in the eeprom dose not support it

as i said feel free to come join the discussion over there
there are a few guys keen to go with the delco on there gems

it just hard for me to give them info the need cause i dont know half of what they
need to know

might have to get my finger out of my a$$ and delco something

not really. take a look inside an 808, there is a square of silver pins where you can see there is a missing chip... the missing chip is the 8192 chip. the hardware is just not existant in the ecu, you add the capability to the 808 with a max232 circuit.

That would be  . If they were to use a 082 and the standard camira/VN/VP memcal it still only gives 160baud, trying to talk to it using 8192 baud will get no response. If you use an 082 and VR/VS manual code ($12) it does not support 4cyl or reluctor pickups which id say most are using.
