I read Queensland Police were prowling for unsecured wireless.
Not sure whether is was advisory, or to fine, or a hoax.

But it's the simplest way to download kiddie porn onto someone's PC. (But what are the chances your grudge has that access?)
(FYI - I'm jesting - Don't do it - they can figure out it wasn't "them" that downloaded and will probably know it was you - unless you know enough!)

Maybe it's the Lert issue - they could be guilty of aiding terrorism. Or maybe they want to minimise that cyber-terrorist risk.

i hooked up a gps and drove in to work with a 2.4ghz antenna on the roof a few times, and circled through a few side streets in my lunch break. some people have quite funny SSIDs ("cantsleepclownswilleatme") comes to mind from last time, and there was (probably still is) a web site that'd take the logs and plot up a google maps view and flag where the networks were, what type of crypto, how strong the signal was and all that...

A mate of mine who was on dialup at his home needed some windows updates and found a store with unsecure wireless but he could only get coverage if he stood in the garden bed and held the laptop up at arms reach while the updates downloaded. this was at 1am, and the police saw him and had to ask some questions. he told them exactly what he was doing - his internet was too slow, and he was using the shops internet to update his pc! they looked at him funny and then left him to it...
