looks to be based off the older buicks, like VN and so forth.
I like the 6 bolt mains
still doesn't answer my question when I was looking for timing cover bolts. Btw anyone know where you can buy new timing cover bolts?

yeah from what i've read of them they make them to allow them to replace original stuff, but then the more serious options arn't backwards compatible .... ie. the heads with extra bolt holes.
as for the bolts, i'd say if you can't get them from holden your only option is probably going to be a wreckers or getting the closest you can find from a bolt supplier ?

you wouldn't believe what a bolt supplier doesn't have. I only ever get the right stuff from bolt suppliers 5% of the time. A real PITA!
I have that problem all the time at work coz international and euro standard fasteners aren't standard here lol.
Anyway, holden stock stuff all when it come to this sort of stuff, been there done that.
wreckers maybe possible but likely the same problem throughout. They corrode like hell and often can break if reused, or leak again because the bolts are too weak to tighten properly.
Anyway this block came up when I searched bolts which I thought way pretty neat. I wonder how the mains go with tolerances considering the main cap is steel and the rest is alloy? expansion would cause issues right? or is there more to the design?

I believe it's the buick engine before the one used in the VN. Fairly much not a lot of the stuff seems to be compatible with our engines

looks to me a GNX turbo engine.
looks like it has the front turbo drain above the timing cover.
But still a good thing.
