With fusion 360 you can export sketches as DXF. Once the sketch is complete, right click it on the panel on the LH side and select save as DXF.

Im not sure what I was missing, the menu option was there but the exports were missing half the model.

It will only export whatever is in that exact sketch that you right click on.
If you have drawn it up over a series of multiple sketches, you can create another sketch and then use the "Project" tool (P key) to include all the geometry from the sketches underneath in the new one, then export that.
You can also project faces / features of 3D objects if you have extruded them into 3d space.

Ahh thats probably it. I was learning as I went, I probably had multiple sketches. Oh well after the whole licensing fail and poor support from autodesk I was happy to end up with autocad where the edu license just worked first try. I'll stick with that now.

I think it was about $160 for 3 of each part. that was 3 of 3 each different types of trigger wheel and 3 each of a few sensor mount pieces all in 5mm mild steel. Not sure if thats normal price or just cheap because we got the cad side of it right and it was easy for them and didn't take time to just load it in to the machine for a small side job.

Looks like they come up pretty good.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.
