Are there any adverse effects from removing the charcole canister purge setup?
The engine is in a pre emissions car anyways. And it's taking up space where I
Want to put my clutch master.
Cheers

Not that i know of. Ive seen plenty street cars without them and they do smell of petrol in the bay.

Should mention it's a v6 ecotec, guess that's not too important.
Well my tank smells anyways so it will cancel the two

Well it's only one vac hose under the throttle so that's easy.
And I'll leave the canister all as is. The engine is in a ke70 so I'm bit short
On space in the drivers rear corner. I'm sure it in the bin file to switch off. I was mainly curious if it would have negative effect.

you'll probably need to add a breather to the tank if you remove it or you might find it pressurises on a hot day ....
although if its the oroginal KE tank its probably got its own shit for that anyways....
the solenoid normally opens under certain load and speed conditions to suck said vapours into the motor, but i dont know that you need to do anything to the tune, just remove the hose and block the hole....

I had to drill a small hole in the fuel cap for the same reason.
Hot days too much pressure.
Hmmmm food for thought. I wouldn't think the lack of tank vapor would affect
Anything.
Thanks for input

when i put an ecotec into the torana i connected its breathers to the can and used the solenoid etc as normal ... ended up getting fuel in the canister and would just about flood the motor when it came on!! so i put a bolt in it !!

I think it's got to do with the fact that unleaded fuel caps have a pressure vent in them to help with that.
I have mine all connected for the mod plate.
Now that I have it done....
It's in the way of the clutch master I wanna fit. Old cable isn't too nice.
Lol your torry, never herd that one.

yeah i think the issue is that when i removed the tank vents that went up into the inner guards as breathers to atmosphere and then connected them to the canister system it was too low, so got fuel in it on corners or when the tank was full, then eventually it made it to the canister and then it was just too much to draw in, learning curve
also with the canister purge i learnt that its designed to work on decel sort of areas only so as to not change learned fueling etc and it was a pulsed thing aswell so it didn't get too much at once ...
i was originally running the ecotec on an 808 with 12P tune and had to connect the solenoid with a flex table to get it to work anywhere near acceptable, purge worked much better after i put an ecotec computer and 4L60E in it just before i sold it. (mind you the gearbox didn't

)
