Hi,
I have got my 202 engine with the Delco 808 conversion roughly running
How do I complete the basic tune ?
I am guess that I make up a ALDL cable to go from the ALDL plug on the wiring harness to my laptop/desktop computer ?
Download the program and change the parameters (Fuel, Spark, Injector changes, IAC settings) ?
Any information is much appreciated
Thankyou

There is a basic tune in the $12P custom tunes thread that might be a good in the ball park starting point tune for you.
that said anything is going to need to be tuned to suit your exact combo, to that end you will need some hardware to do it.
the aldl plug on the VN/VP loom is not really suitable for data logging at a fast enough rate to get good usable data, in the for sale section of the forum are the parts you will need:
1. usb ecm comms interface (first thing you need to be able to data log)
2. ecm nvram (to allow you to change items live and upload/download the tune on the fly)
3. wideband controller to allow you to reference this in the data logs
4. eprom eraser and eprom programmer - these are optional but allow you to put your finished tune on a memcal if you want to so you dont need to leave the nvram in there

Hi, I am trying to understand tuning of my efi 202 Delco 808 conversion
This is what I understand I have to do:
1. Install the ECM Comms inside the '808 case to provide a USB port on the side and solder the 3 wires inside the ECM
2. Install the ECM NVRAM to replace the memcal and solder 1 wire
3. Download the program on my computer and install it on the memcal via the usb socket on the ECM Comms
Is this all correct, have I missed anything
Any information is much appreciated
Thankyou

I have managed to pick up a stock, old, tired VK 202 EFI that was still running when it was pulled and I have I've set it up in my engine cradle. The plan is to get it going on an 808 and use it to learn how to tune it etc before I transfer the 808 setup onto my grunter 202 with the ITB's on it.
I have done the BIM mods to the dizzy. done the loom, purchased the NVRam and comms boards from Gareth and got all the sensors etc sorted.
My problem is finding a decent VN throttle body (damn things are too old these days and hardly any in the wreckers). I don't really want to have to modify the actual VK manifold. Will any of the later commodore bodies bolt up to the VK manifold or are there any other choices that you guys out there are using that have the correct TPS orientation for the 808.
The fun and learning begins.

This is the only one I could find. Not too badly priced.
