Have found more info from a company in the US of A that rebrand the tacho and other gauges, Wema,
so tach can use sine or square wave signal and have found the set up instructions so I think I shall be buying a set of Kus gauges their gps speedo is very cheap and comes with the sender

have wired up and tested tacho and it works no probs from dfi module
