265 Hemi to efi
Re: 265 Hemi to efi
Thanks for that, I have some really good strong connectors that take a fair bit of force to clamp down properly so should all be good.
Yes I haven't got around to the rubber insulating yet but that is on the cards along with dampening the fuel pumps
Cheers

Have you done anything to stop the cam walking forward. It was a big problem with those engines when the timing chain stretched a little. The cam walks forward due to the helical gears on the pump and dissy. There was an aftermarket timing case but we ended up welding a nut the the cover central to the cam and used a bolt and locknut to hold the cam back.

Don't they have a thrust pate on them?

Nope they rely on the chain to hold them back but with time the sprocket starts rubbing against the tin timing chain cover. I never saw one that actually machined it's way through the cover but they get very noisy.

That seems silly.

Re: 265 Hemi to efi
Yeah it’s stupid, they fixed it on the CM motors by machining a slot in the cam and bolting a retaining plate to the block. My timing case cover has the bolt fix

So is the CM the last model? It's usually the case.
Re: 265 Hemi to efi
Yes correct, the revised cam design is so simple that it’s absurd it wasn’t introduced when the problem was first discovered.

Ha it was going great until I snapped a compression ring. The guy from hemi265.com has posted me another one which I hope turns up on Friday.
