Yeah the 265 heads flow well without any work. In this Article they used a 245 head to increase the compression as it’s a smaller chamber but reworked the ports etc to match a similar flow to the 265 head

100% the problem, was going to run a crane 286 in my 308, ended up with a little 213@50 cheapy, best choice for a daily

Hi all, does anyone have any hints on installing a cam while the engines still in the car, specifically getting the old cam out and cam in without knocking the bearings and lobes around. I am thinking I should make up a tool with some steel pipe for bolting to the cam face so as to keep it steady while threading it through the bearings. Cheers

I have never had an issue. Just take slow and easy rotating the cam as you go. So looks like you got a new cam. What brand/specs etc?

Thanks, will just be careful then. I seen a guy change one on YouTube and he was rough as guts and didn’t seem to have a problem.

If memory servers me correctly, on a Hemi 6 you have to remove the oil pump before the cam shaft came be removed.

i've never done it in the car before, but certainly you could use the fuel pump and/or oil pump holes to stick a finger in there to help guide it.

like said above just take it easy and dont force it and you'll get there ok.

the cam you picked should be good for a streeter!

Correct, just worked that out this afternoon. Couldn’t get it out past the second cam lobe, luckily I had a spare motor on the stand and put the cam in and out no problems, then installed an oil pump and found that the gear fowls on the cam. Bugger.

Yeah it’s suitable for a stock converter
