So you don’t need to always change the housing when changing the wheels?

Easiest and cheapest to just buy a bigger turbo .you have to reprofile the housing for a new wheel and it has to be accurate we just priced up a rebuild on our 900 to fit a bigger wheel and reprofile the housing was 600 more on top .use run a new 300-600 doller China before paying that lol.falcon guys swapped the 0.50 to 0.70 housings no gains at all the wheel wasn't obviously outflowing the housing

Thanks for that, yeah there’s lots of cheap turbos out there. Can pick up a t70 that will fit without too much modification anywhere from $180 to $350

Bit of an update, got this turbo installed now and what a difference. The old one was obviously way to small. Hauls arse now and the power difference is like comparing chalk and cheese. Been backing off at around 3000 rpm because it needs the tune adjusted which will hopefully be soon and I can get some dyno numbers. The stock trans doesn’t like the monsterous torque so I also need to careful giving it a boot full from low speed otherwise its just going to cook it.

People think small is going to spool early and be great but doesn't work out that way as you found out and you didn't upsize all that much but a big difference in torque

Yeah that is spot on. This was the biggest I could find with a T3 flange and when it arrived I was a bit worried as it didn’t look much larger than the old one but obviously the small increase in size does make a significant difference. The compressor size appears about the same but the main increase is in the turbine going from 0.5 to 0.63. I suppose in percentage terms that is a significant increase.

Ha, the poor old shed floor paint wouldn't stand up to that. Neither would the trans
