VR 5l Auto Bin
Re: VR 5l Auto Bin
yeah had a look at that 125 USD including sensorplus postage ? is that correct? seems like pretty good value
Re: VR 5l Auto Bin
Have a look over this. It's in $11P V1.04
I haven't altered the TCC settings to do the reverse lock out. Would be best to look at another thread that's going using and a flex table. http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4266
Might want someone else to check over the auto fault flagging I done. I've never actually had to do it before.
Was that tune the 200kw one they advertise?
With the wideband that's the one. Get one of them and with the NVRAM post up some logs and with some help you will get this thing dialled in spot on. Then any engine mods in the future you're just a quick touch up.

Re: VR 5l Auto Bin
One disadvantage of 11P is the lack of outputs, the single flex output shares the trip computer output so its one or the other. There is a TCC PWM output that is spare for the early 4L60E gearbox, but I have not coded this to be optionally used as a flex output.
The T56 manuals that use the spare TCC output (manual ECU) for reverse solenoid run modified code to allow this, its an extra subroutine. The solenoid is enabled when the speed is below 15KPH and RPM is below 2000RPM.

Re: VR 5l Auto Bin
Hard work these T56 sometimes. I like my mates way. He removed the solenoid and fitted a stuff spring.
I don't know anymore particulars but I can find out. It work's a treat.
VL400 would you mind looking over the auto fault masking?
I've never had to do it before so not certain it's been done right.

Re: VR 5l Auto Bin
you guys are legends, thanx a lot for your advice
so sounds like I would be better off going to a VR manual ECU i.e 808? is that correct and disabling vats ? so that the bcm doesn't stop the car from starting. I have an aftermarket alarm, so its not that much of a big deal I guess ?
cheers guys

Re: VR 5l Auto Bin
Maybe not. If the auto can be "turned off" correctly it should function fine.
With an 808 you will need to run a signal converter. The 808 only accepts a hall effect.
Although you will need to correct the reading now anyway so maybe.
If you got a converter off festy. It will convert the signal and correct the pulses.
You can then use an 808 to tune and use a flex table for reverse lockout.
If it was mine I'd do that. Re pin the auto loom to suit and rip out the excess wiring.

Re: VR 5l Auto Bin
Only thing I would also do is mask the trans items in the engine area. The code uses them for some items too.Dylan wrote:VL400 would you mind looking over the auto fault masking?

That's great thanks for your time.
Re: VR 5l Auto Bin
Thanx guys, just need to get a hold of antus now lol
I don't have the nvram yet but will be interesting for me to compare the bins and learn a bit about how the ecu and the software works.
I think budget wise im better sticking with the 424 at this stage.
I have the speedo wired up as normal and the dash seems to pick up the speed signal although it's only reading under half what it should cos the 17t reluctor vs 40t reluctor in the auto. My thinking is I can just wire in the converter between the speed sensor and the Ecu and adjust it and it will read the correct speed in the Ecu and the dash

Re: VR 5l Auto Bin
Sounds good. Dont forget a wide band if your budget can stretch. Well worth it.
