Delco'ed 202 LJ Torana

Post by Joshua »

Hi all, having had a vk injection system in my LH torana that i'd planned to upgrade to delco, that never eventuated.
i finally got a delco powered 202 in my LJ, after months of procrastinating i got to drive it around yesterday with no issues ready to start tunning

After researching the upgrade i found the easiest way to do it would be to shamelessly copy Holden202T's setup with the help of VL400 who answered all my stupid questions and helped me fix my dumb wiring mistakes i ended up with a 6 Ls2 coils on the spark side and a vk injection manifold all running from the 808 delco computer

i still have plenty to do, wiring tidy up/do something with the fuel rail etc. sort out a VSS, running a celica box and have a VSS to suit it but not sure how to make it work with this?

future plans include turbo and e85.

looks good man, and glad you shamelessly copied my thread, that's what its all there for :)

how are you triggering the coils, with a crank chopper wheel or did you get one of those dizzy mods ?

looking forward to seeing the future mods, and good to see another 202 delcoed :punk:

Good to finally see a pic of the car, looks tidy  And that the first drive went ok :punk:

Trigger is a 36-1 crank trigger.

it's about the 5th drive, but the first one that was any good, just figuring out the tune, the kinji flow and VE settings, it was running too lean, i ended up setting the kinji to what the calculator said, then just multiplying the whole VE table to get it running rich, so that it was actually drivable

having said that looks like its suffering a pretty serve oil leak and the motor will have to come back out

running 36-1 crank trigger, seemed much simpler then modifying a dizzy

yeah pretty huge leak, rear of the sump has been getting slowly worse, now it pretty bad, only got to drive it for 15 minutes before oil smoke filled the cabin but got a little bit of data using the wideband spreadsheet ended up with a VE table like this, need to go for some longer drives

front view of my bracket, used 5mm plate for the back plate and 2mm for the brace/sensor mount
