Using a rivet... Champion

What tool do you use for crimping the pins? Iv got one from Masters, ratcheting type, although.. unless I get it absolutely perfect, it wont go into the plugs properly.

Yeah, cheap/poor quality crimps usually cause more bad than good.

Ill take some photos tonight for you.

I've never actually tried to crimp one, but I have a bag full off old ones with 12 inches of wire on them I use when I need to add something to a loom like a flex output etc.

on the removal process, the only tip I can add, when your pushing the tool into the slot, push from the back to keep the pin right up at the front of the plug, so when you put the tool in that little tab doesn't get caught on the spot its retained, then once the tool is right in pull the wire out

I think the masters one I got, is for a different type of pin, so when I crimp the ones Im using, the full thing ends up rounded.
I got one of the workers to demonstrate on the three main crimpers there, and the one I bought was the only one we could figure out

Might run past masters today and take some pictures.

jewels screw drivers are good, or a piece of oxy welding wire, as long as they don't bend easily usually works well

Its really important to start with a good bared wire to the correct lenght to suit the terminal you are crimping

And that is what it looks like when you get it right. Its a good idea to practice on some scrap wire prior to wasting all your parts and time.
Its also very important to have the right size cable, terminal and connector for the job. A great result always comes from propper planing.
