Hi Guys

So a mate of mine bought his son his first car the other day (Holden Commodore VS III V6 5 speed Ute) from a storage shed auction.
Now the issue is .... no key & no remote.
New locks & keys fitted, plug Tech1 in ....select BCM.... security.... program key ..... all new keys..... type in 6 digit security pin (this is where the fun stopped)

My questions is among the collective genius of this group as this issue been struck and resolved without BCM & remote swap.
Back when VS was a current model I remember making request via TIS to get codes but I am no longer able to make these requests.
It was as simple a request along with VIN.

(A little thought in the back on my head keeps telling me something about drivers door open and ign on for 2+ hours and BCM over ride takes place on the security....... or was this on something else?)

Thoughts anyone?

Justin

Might be easier to get a matching key head and BCM from a wrecker or ebay.

After market scan tools don't require security code...

No such thing as key on code security over ride, works on early Ford after 45mins

Sweet ... I will grad the OTC from the workshop and try with that. I have only ever used the Tech1 for VS keys.

Thanks

holden scantools dont require the code either, just program additional key NOT a new key. Which is all the aftermarkets give you the option for.

The New key option with the security code is for programming a key when the BCM is sitting on the bench by itself.

Security override for the BCM was 2 hours (it was a series III)
All the required info was listed on the old TIS CD.

Thanks The1 - Nailed it!

Thanks again guys
