Yeh, there's a few things I could try, that being one of them, but I was hoping and needing it to be as if it were a manual car from factory, that's why I need to find the correct Plug-N-Play solution.

Thanks Jayme,

Your Series 2 diagram is the first that I have seen that correlates with what I see when I look at the fuse box under the dash, which makes sense as it's a Series 2.

Looking at any of the diagrams, logic tells me that F5, regardless of Series, should be in the engine loom and should be providing a ground, and as a result all I have tried to date is grounding the wire in the body loom where the F5 wire should be terminated, just as it is in the auto loom.

The manual loom is original & untouched.

I'm getting my hands on a Series 2 manual engine loom from a mate, so hopefully this should shed some light on what's going on.

Thanks.

No idea.

I also re-read my previous post and noticed an error. I stated that the F5 wire was missing from the loom, and that's not entirely correct. A Blue wire is in the PCM plug in position F5, not the Grey/Blue or Grey wire as detailed in the diagrams, and this Blue wire does not terminate into the body loom plug as the Grey/Blue does in the auto loom. I haven't yet traced it to work out where it ends.

At this stage I think I'll just wait for the manual engine loom from a Series 2.

I have modified my previous post accordingly.

Thanks.

unpin F5, get a spare pin, stick it in and run it to the relay ground pin and see if it works, at least then you'll know if thats all it is!

The car belongs to my son, and today he finally pulled his finger out of his ass and used it to Google a solution himself. Progress. :punk:

Anyhoo, he found this, so if the last post is correct, then there's no way in hell a Series 1 loom will work in a Series 2.

Still waiting for Series 2 loom to arrive and am hopeful it will be Plug-N-Play and drive away.

I'll let you all know how it goes.

Thanks.

differences I can see in the engine connectors:
in Series 1, Engine connector 2 has a grey/blue wire that goes to PCM pin F5 and start relay.
in series 2, that same pin on the engine connector 2 is White/black and goes from the pcm F14 (diagnostic request) to the data link connector

in series 1 there is a pin on engine connector 1, coloured Red/White that goes from the starting position of the key to F8 (crank sensing)
on series 2, this pin is a blank pin in engine connector 1

the serial data pins are in the same place on the engine connectors.
