Hey,

As above, missus had the engine check light come on this arvo. Checked the codes when she got home and found DTC 42 - ignition circuit bypass.

Nothings been touched except I did an oil change yesterday and put some heat insulation around the fuel injector rail (moved the wiring loom).

I've checked the DFI plug and it is clean and tight, been for a spin but the fault didn't re-occur.

Any ideas what is most likely to set this fault?

edit: Maybe we should set up a sub-forum for faults/diagnostics as I don't really see any other appropriate place for this sort if query?

The last time I had this as an intermittent fault ended up being the dfi module.

Loose pins on the dfi can cause that one, or as above, the dfi itself.

Didn't wash the motor by any chance?

Nope, nothing drastic like that, just the oil change and fitting some heat insulation on the fuel rail.

It's been trouble free so maybe it's the dfi saying it's getting close to time for replacement?
