It's a Holden, it just needs a tune up, slight miss under load lol congrats to the mechanical rapist, you'd have to go to a lot of effort to do that ! Hope the gearbox is better, looks like a manual on my phone ?

Not completely unexpected. I've heard of a few ecotecs that have lost oil pressure after sustained high revs (like power cruise), go long enough and it will do just that.

looking at that piston i'd say it was the cause of all the failure! the rest of the damage just tells me it didn't happen at idle lol!

no this one was caused by all the bearing spinning. Blocked oil pick up from the sludge. The piston was contacting the head and bent the valves due to the enormous play from the big end coming apart that made the piston fall apart. The end cap was not found or at least not recognizable. the rod was powder in the end except for the top part which had its pin punched half way through the sump.

All of the other pistons were perfect but every bearing was spun, even some of the mains iirc.

Amazingly it still ran and dove around lol.
