Ok so I need new disc rotors on the back of the Q ( running HZ-WB disc ass ) has anyone got a favorite brand like rda, dba, etc etc or any bad experiences with some brands ? I intend to run qfm A1RM pads on them, cheers

I reacon that they're all about the same, dba seem to have a nicer finish on the braking surface that aids in quick bedding, but they usually come at a premium.

dba t2 or t3 is what I like.

brembo do good solid disks but im not using solid ones much these days as I found slotted are a must for track compound pads to work properly. such as a1rm

last replacement on the VS i swapped to DBA T3 works well, i have always found QFM HPX or Higher a great pad, no dust and good grip, only thing ive found is you need 2 or so uses's in the morning to warm it up a little but it then bites

I found those pads with non slotted disks work good for the first few weeks and then go shit. The problem seems to be glazing. When I went with the same pads and the T2 which are slotted, holyshit did they make a difference and its consistent, keeps on keeping on.

So the slots must be keeping the pads de-glazed.

im gonna sound like a nutter for this, but I reckon the main issue with most brake disks being installed is knobs that do up the wheel nuts in a straight clockwise circle order with a rattlegun dead tight. it puts off center strain in the wrong places and warps the disks. a brand new set of disks doesnt tend to last long before they start shuddering from the buckle when you do that. I have lost count of the number of family members that have had bucked disks and always not long after getting new tyres.
I always do mine up by hand in a star pattern, even at the shop I tell the tyre bloke to fuck off ill do it myself by hand, they think im a nutter lol. but unlike most other locals I know, I have never had a warped brake disk.

not saying I have any proof of this, but common sense tells me it cant be good for a sandwiched brake disk being done up by a rattlegun in a straight circular order.

Jayme definitly not a nutter for that I've seen a few disc like that because like you said they're lazy run them up with the rattle gun and do one or two tighter and it pulls it weird and on top they've stretched the stud we end up having to replace all the studs and skimming or replacing the discs, pad and torquing the wheel nuts. The next worst thing is tyre shine in a pump bottle and people spraying it around all over the place and getting it on discs I hate the shit I refuse to put it on customers cars we've had so any brake shudder issues because of it

I don't even take my cars to a tyre place, I just take the wheels so I must be a total nutter. I just hate the fact you can't in do them unless you have a 20ft long breaker bar and I don't want them taking it for a flog (I mean test drive) after

First thing I do after getting tyres fitted, balanced or aligned is loosen all wheel nuts and tighten by hand with a torque wrench to about 120Nm. Every time I haven't done this have had brake shudder within 5000km.
