We do that to stop Americans driving our cars. Many of them are just too fast for you blokes.
And it stops all the Americans coming here and taking our cars over there like we bring all there good cars over here :)

They probably have similar regs. I have seen a RHD Monaro for sale over there.

You're 100% correct. Here our women can beat us in 300 meters in less than 4 seconds.

Right O. 1st off thanks Dylan for helping me with a tune to allow me to on my club drive this weekend.
Have been absolutely stressed about the super lean AFR's after the manifold change. Didn't help the fuel pressure reg was faulty too !
So as part of my discounted registration scheme, $98 a year inc 3rd party insurance i have to be an active member of a local car club.
I'm a committee member for NT Gassers Car Club. With 145odd members (Biggest in Darwin) we had a drive inn style movie night @ Hayes Creek NT (320km return from home)
Being a long weekend we decided to stay for a extra night & head over to the Douglas Hot Springs. https://www.google.com.au/?client=ubunt ... channel=fs
Couple of pics for you.
Road was rough as. Changing from 2 lane highway to single.

Dirt road was smooth & inviting

Then the Local creek crossing.

Then down to a single lane dual carriage way dirt track.

Being a movie night it was fitting "Voted the best Replica" mad max interceptor attended.

Our old VK sees worse than that during the wet season! Good to see real cars being driven.

Crane 284 & Stall Convertor

Post by v8slrtorana »

Whats everyone's thoughts on using a standard stall convertor behind the crane 284 camshaft.
Specs are 222/222 @ 50
284/284 duration
112 lobe sep
480 lift at valve.
Currently im using a 3800 convertor & t400 however im thinking of fitting a T700 i have.
Not real keen on spending money on a stall just yet.
I know it will be much slower off the mark, not too concerned about that.
More interested in how it will handle idling in gear, & the Park to reverse or Drive change.

A mate had a crane 286 with std stall and th700, went ok. I had a bigger cam in my old sbc with th700 and std stall and 4:11's and it went really well. The only problem you'll have is th700 are a shit box, it won't be as nice as a th400. The only advantage is it has a lower 1st and overdrive. If you start putting power into it it will die, I don't care what anyone says I've had both and I have a heap of th700 "souvenir's" but no th400 ones

IAC issues

Post by v8slrtorana »

Perhaps a stupid question, maybe not.

I think my IAC isn't sealing, or is faulty.
Im seeing zero IAC steps in TP5, but there is vacuum pulling through the passage.
Using a Edelbrock 3878 4 barrel.
Starting to think its been like it since new.

Is it stuffed ?
I would swap it out with a stock VN unit, but its the larger LS style plunger & the heads wont swap over.
& I dunno shit from clay. :)
