kwp 2000 read/write on a honda bike ecu.
Re: kwp 2000 read/write on a honda bike ecu.
The nail polish remover did little. I will leave it bit longer and see what happens. If nothing happens I will go buy some stronger acetone. Two different methods for obtaining the flash from the processor. Connect with the relavent pins in the harness or ecu and send the correct commands. This will also probable also require a custom bootloader to be sent to enable a read. The other way is to connect to board using a BDM and try and read the processor this way. Hopefully it is not locked, most processors can block access via this method. I have not looked enough at the processor to see what is possible. In the Ford thread I linked to a document that covers a effort on a similar processor in a Ford module. If you read the Ford section it may help. Non standard messages is not abnormal, the lack of iso compliance is fine. What now the person selling software for these ecu is using open port which means the cheap cable will work.

I have used methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) to remove potting on ECUs. Works really well, just don't breathe the fumes!

i've had some success with thinners too. a '90s subaru and a vt donated connectors to make an obd2 adaptor lead. there's a wire which needs to be grounded to put it into diagnostic mode. i can hopefully incorporate all that so i can just plug in and communicate. who is selling the software?

so massive thread dig. i'm back into this again. the ecm is made by keihin, and the service number seems to be 9042. it apparently has a renesas DF6387FPV microcontroller. there's a block diagram on page 35 of this datasheet. https://datasheet.octopart.com/HD64F364 ... 120629.pdfantus wrote:What info do you have about the ecu? model or service number? Any circuit diagrams? Can you name any existing software which is supposed to work?
i bought a honda diagnostic tool which worked once. it connected no problem, and gave good data. i'll try it again when i get the show powered up again.
