Anyone else get phone call scams call in?
My numbers private, yet.. still get fake calls. Must just dial till someone picks up. :wtf:
But.. can't help my self.. I have to much fun mucking with them.

Anyway, latest one is this:

(His accent was a really heavy Indian one, sounded fake to be honest)
Scammer: "Hi, this is the accident claims department of Australia. We have been notified of a recent accident that has occured and would like to process this as quickly as possible. I will be requiring the following details to process this claim, can I please get your Full name, address and card details to process through our system"

(Now imagine my response in the most bogan Rockingham Aussie accent ever heard.. any Perth locals know what I mean  )
Me: Ahh yeah bro! Burnt me car out yesterday and need some cash. Ma names Bazza. I live on Dardy Road in Yolo.

Scammer: "Ah yes our system confirms that is correct, can I please get your card details to process the claim?"

Me: Oh bro, I cant read aye, I just got a new card and its got all letters on it, Ill try spell it:

Scammer: "That is ok, please try"

Me: "G".. "E"..."T".. "then theres a dash bro"

Scammer: "Yes ok"

Me: "F"..."U"..."C"..."K"..."E"..."D"... "Can you read that back to me bro?"

Scammer: hangs up..

Least they keep me amused

I'm not allowed to play with scammers anymore. Last one I played with, "Bob from Melbourne" more like Rajish from Mumbia, rang back after hanging up on me and went off his rocker at my elderly mother who answered the phone. Her very calm reply was "you must have the wrong number".

Latest here is the Solar rebate scam. Must have your details so they can retrospectively pay the rebate.

Ive had the computer error one. Played along knowing it was a scam asking them to repeat everything and generally making it difficult for them to navigate me to the windows event viewer, at which point I could see all systems have errors where they were asking me to look, and I told them there were none there. They didnt have a scripted response for that, and got really confused before I told them i knew they were a scam and to piss off.

Last time they tried it I decided to go even further and started making it super difficult right from the start but I went to far and they hung up on me within 20 seconds. Must string them along a bit more next time before they clue on!

When they sound like a real business I tell them my number is on the do not call register (it is) and they usually apologise, remove me from their list and get off the phone real quick.

Every time our landline rings my daughters race to answer it, hoping it will be a scammer.
Their favourite victims are the computer virus calls but they tend to be over-dramatic in their responses so usually get hung up on pretty quickly.
My wife was tormenting one of the scammers one day, and instead of getting agro at her she got a marriage proposal :wtf:

Lol, I like it!

I've always liked this guys aproach. He deals with email scammers instead of phone scammers. Same effect though...
