Im not sure if anyone here would have seen the news about a year ago, when a real Nintendo Playstation prototype was discovered? At the time it was pretty cool that it was proven to exist - previously it had been a thing of rumours and was suspected likely false. The device powered on, but the cd side did not work.

Well, it seems the fault was likely just a loose cable! And it has now been shown to work. Some interesting footage of the troubleshooting (essentially reverse engineering and trouble shooting the hardware) and it running is here:

yeh amazing what gets lost during company or deal changes, i can only imaging about the things people dont know about. Also heard on podcasts over the years of numerous stories of what people have developed at work never to see the light of day.

I always like reading about never released graphics cards like some of the 3dfx cards in the works while they went bankcrupt. Or a number of years ago something like a single board 3 GPU ATi graphics card that featured AIO liquid cooling that never got released.
