Hi guys,

Just a sanity check, I was sent this tune, car is a VX s2 L67 but that is not what I'm seeing. Can someone please double check what bin this is.

Many thanks

Has an ID string at FF40 pcmhacking.net A5KE 1.3 VXV6 AT

It looks like The1's enhanced, viewtopic.php?f=27&t=2518 search for A5K Enhanced... It is the supercharged operating system from there. I have not looked at what's been tuned. You can get the xdf and adx from the zip. I believe its code v1.3 and 'f' (from the download version) refers to the version of the xdf/adx. The1 should be able to confirm that.

Thanks for that.

There must be something odd going on as that was the first thing I checked the file against but it came up with a whole lot of errors but tonight it does look correct.

Out of curiosity, how do you find that info?

I have bins associated with the HxD hex editor, so I just opened the file and mouse wheeled through it until I saw the text. I know the layout of these bins pretty well though, so for 128k I skim to the row starting FFF0 (top of the low half of the bin) and then scroll back past the code. Our ID is there, Kalmakers is just before the start of the operating system so back a bit further. Chiptorque etc are around there somewhere too though you dont see many of those these days.

OK, I've not tried that. I was using the memcal ID tool.

So what do you see this one as?

Yep. I see A5 @ 2008 which is making me think probably a stock bin, I see no text around FFF0, then I scroll backwards and see this:
l67_1.png
l67_1.png (49.77 KiB) Viewed 4952 times
Which reminds me of... viewtopic.php?f=26&t=236&p=2260#p2262

Though a quick google tells me its also in Kalmaker W51 viewtopic.php?f=28&t=787&p=9339&hilit=mjf#p9339 but in this case it does not have the Kalmaker identifier.

I'm loosing it. I just read the memcal again. The first L67 file was a enhanced code I was using for comparison reasons, the 2nd L67 bin was in fact what was on the memcal which came out of a VX s2 L67. So I was right in that it was the wrong bin for the car.

Yep. Someone, somewhere probably said "heres an L67 chip", and that much would be true. But it does not make it right. They would not have said memcal, if they knew that they'd probably understand the differences. :)
