i had to bring this to peoples attention ...

i thought firebug didn't post it, but it turns out he did edit his original post and added this picture, issue is, no one sees the post as updated.

i sent him this picture, as in my searches for baby photos (of me when i was born, to compare to what my new baby girl looks like) i found a picture from about 1985, this was when mum and dad had just had their house built and were in the process of sorting out the back yard, as it turns out the trailer is front and centre of the pic, this is the original one as i know it, then rebuilt by dad approx 1995 with the blue frame and the hard wood.

what the picture doesnt show is the single round tube draw bar it originall had, and a screw tight hitch (probably not the right term for that)

As long as it wasn't welded across the tube it was probably fine... :D

I built a small trailer for my Dad 20 odd years ago with a screw type coupling. It still has it, which reminds me that I better change that over to a quick release job.

have 2 farm trailers here with a screw lock coupling, both still work, but will never see a rego'd trailer

I just took the easy option and bought newish, locally made and produced, not cheap chinese steel :)

And as per Old64's post the draw bar is welded as he indicated.

Now to make a few additions to bring it up to what I want/need.

First job will be changing over the hubs and using Commodore wheels.
