VU Ute ecotec tuning q?

Hey there new to the scene just checking about if i have to unlock my ECU for tuning on a NA V6 ecotec VU ute i'm looking to order the cable for tuning but want to make sure i can. i'm handy with computers but happy to look for software that can unlock but would be nice to know what i'm in for any help would e great in pointing me to a unlock guide or some-think?

other than the hardware needed to tune, you shouldn't need anything else.

im not sure what VU is, if its VS/VT its probably memcal type

VU is the Ute version of VX, so will be flashed base ECU.
From VY onwards they were all called the same.

Is the hardware required for this just the cable in the case of these flash based models?
I could not find a clear answer as there are so many.

Yes, and use the OSEflash tool.
