Hi guys.
New to the forum.
I am currently doing a V6 conversion on my hilux. Using a Eco-tech from a VT
I think the vats chip i have may not be right.
Engine will run for about 2 seconds then die.
Is there any way of telling? or fixing my self?
Ideally a full security wipe would be better.

Many possibilities of what could be wrong. Its hard to get a vats bin (chip) wrong, its not hard to make one. One common problem is getting the fuel lines back to front but this is more common on commodore conversions not Hilux in your case. Still worth checking though.
More details might help: Serial number of PCM (computer) you are running and type of Vats chip you are using. You could also squirt some "Start you bastard" into the inlet to see if the engine runs longer than more than 2 seconds. If it does this will confirm that the Vats chip is working.

Good luck

The chip that i brought was a VT V6 commodore manual - memcal -no security- no vats chip. Which i brought from justcomms.
I do have fuel and good pressure.
I've have gone over my wiring, which i am keeping very basic.
From what i have worked out is that the immobilizer is kicking in (vats are not disabled.) and causing the engine to shut down.

Does it all stay powered up while cranking?
I've come across that countless times. ECU injectors fuel pump are not active while cranking due to wrong power feed.

Dylan.
yes, power is staying on.
i have even had direct power to the fuel pump to see what is shutting down once started. Fuel pump is not the issue.
Has to be the immobilizer.
