Hey guys
Started playing about with tunerpro and want to write a couple of definitions for ALDL.
This is proibly the first of many questions, hopefully no one minds shedding some light.....

I understand the MODES on the ALDL, what i wondered was is there a system to the MODE 4 instruction set.
for example forcing the cooling fan on/off?

Heres something I'm working on. This should be correct for VR V6

MODE 4 Controller MODE user can modify parameters
HEX - F4 58 04 81 81 AE Hold 1st gear
HEX - F4 58 04 81 01 2E hold 2nd gear

or wiether they are specific to the ECM/PCM

Thanks Bob

Its fairly device specific although the same family of devices seem to be similar. Have attached the VR mode 4 control for both $12 and $11. You should be able to work out how its used.

I did start a mode 4 control page for the flashtool but never finished it, its still partially operational. Might continue with it if people think it would be useful?

Thanks for the quick replies.

Looked at the EFILive ALDL steam HEX commands thats where the info i have came from,
started looking around and found some huge discrepincies between the limited info.
Copied a couple to a txt file and compared, and thats when i decided to "ask the expert" :geek:

again thanks for the info and I'll look at the files VL400

I reckon if you added mode 4 cammands to the flash tool it would be real usefull VL400. :punk:

Thanks for the info heres a sheet I've written to help write the instruction set.
It will be able to accept the binary switch bits but haven't got the time right now.

Hi Guys

First thiungs first.....
The attached sheet is a work in progress and i accept no responsibility or liability for any damages or losses caused by its use....
The use of the spreadsheet is entirely your responsibility and assumes knowledge of the appropriate systems and their functions....

Here's an update to the sheet - accepts input to flip BITs and calcs the checksum.
Need some feed back to check the calculation integtity, and ease of use.
Not sure about the CHECKSUM the rest fairly sure its right.....

All Criticism accepted

Bob

If anyone is having a look let me know what you think.....
