$12 to $12p conversion

Hi all,

I have a custom tuned delco running $12. I’m wanting to try $12p but need a bit of help deciphering the tables to convert. I’ve run the difference tool between my tune and the factory BLCD bin and made a list of the tables which have been modified. There’s 515 bytes and 19 lines of “items not defined”

Now I think I need to cut and past these modified tables into excel and then open a $12p bin and copy them into the corresponding tables?

1/ Is there a list of the tables from $12 and their coresponding tables in $12p?

2/ Is there any concern with the “items not defined” lines not being transferred to the $12p?

Thanks in advance for any help guys I really appreciate it!
I’ve put hours into learning this and getting this far, but it just feels like it’s taking soo long

might be best to post up the bin from the car so we can take a look. the unknown tables means they're not in the 12 XDF which your using - which one is that? you also might not want to do a straight copy until you've validated the way it was tuned to begin with. A lot of people do a lot of different things, and the undefined items, while not conclusive make me wonder what is in there.

ive downloaded all three $12 xdf zips, appears only version 1 is an xdf, the other two (2b, 2d) are .ecu files. so ive only been able to use version 1.

Is there something I need to do to load the .ecu files?

So it is based off blcd as what you compared it against!

There’s not a hell of a lot to copy across, you could just copy changes across in hex editor to the same stock $12p file if it is doing everything right with that file for a good starting point.

What xdf did you compare with? Did you get 19 lines of items not defined too?

I edited an XDF already made by someone else to have your changes in but beware a lot of the changes look to be code changes so no idea what will happen if you copy those across to $12p.

You can't use the 12p xdf to look at a $12 bin as 12p has been extensively re-written by VL400 so the code is different and stuff has been moved about. To Copy stuff from $12 into 12p you need to have 2 copies of tunerpro open, one with your original 12p bin and xdf and 12p in the other and then cut and past the data. This works for tables that are the same size but for other tables that are bigger you will have to copy over what you can and then interpolate the rest (like the VE table that has much better resolution than the stock .bin)

In that xdf I made its only really 1st unknown & the 2nd unknown to copy across as it looks like 3rd onwards are code changes for some reason!
