Hey guys just after some advice.
I'm helping a mate get his vr Stateo going with a 6/71 blower on his worked 5L. Recently we've just done a 2speed powerglide conversion on it and got it going sweet but now he's got himself a full supercharger kit including boost referenced blower carbs so efi is outta the question...
I'm thinking if I adapt a tps to a carb and put a 2 or 3 bar map sensor I should be able to accurately control spark for all boost conditions??? Or is it more than just that?

rpm map and tps are the main ones, if you add cts and even mat into the setup it would work pretty well.

even if you cant get the tps onto the carby, just plug it in and leave it in the loom and then it will work ok, you just need to mask the tps stuck DTCs.

Thanks 202T but I thought the ecu would need to see open throttle to move to normal ve and boost ve maps? Correct me if I'm wrong tho

Those maps are MAP sensor vs RPM, so no, not TPS. TPS is used mainly for power enrichment fuelling, and electronic transmission gear kickdown.

Ok sweet, cheers for that Antus. We're making headway with the project but held up with a "bolt on kit" not fitting but waiting on 3bar map sensor and other bits atm to finish that side of it.

That will certainly liven the old girl up! Should do a thread on it so we can see all the progress

lol yeah i know ive been into im over them but i think ive convinced him to do hidden injectors in a efi bird catcher scoop later on...
