Thinking it's time I step and get a set of knock ears.

What are people using for DIY knock ears?

Works a treat. Easy & cheap to make.

Hope that helps.

Something like this personal amplifier run some shielded wire from the mic terminals to a 2 pin knock sensor

Anyone thinking of making one and shop at Jaycar be quick as the transducer is now not being restocked and some stores are sold out. They work a treat.

I used the professional "knock box" and these sensors.

I permanently mounted the sensors on my block, had the machine shop drill and tap the lugs on the block while they were doing the machining so I could chuck two sensors on it.

That's probably a much better sensor to use because your not hearing all the other engine noises as well.

I've got one of those bolt on knock sensor too. Just need to get the other few bits.

I was hoping Festy was going to make more of his little knock boxes but it was not to be.
