Hi,
I was wondering what scantools people have used with this tool? Unfortunately I only have access to a Gscan2 which is meant to do J2534 passthrough. It seems to open up I can select it in the demo version but I just get an error with the number 8 as an error. (unfortunately the code from holden is incorrect for the vehicle)
I am looking for something cheap to just see if it will read to see if another ecu will fix the vehicle.
Any help would be great.

Error code 8 is device not connected
Try Kia/Hyundai option but first make sure you can communicate with the ecu first with the scantool.
If you are trying to link a new or reco ecu try reading the eeprom from the PIM.
If you are installing a second hand ecu get the linked PIM as a kit and do a BCM to PIM Link.

Call me during business hours and ill walk you though the process.
