holden 304 wiring

hi all, not sure how but im thinking i have a bit of problem ive got a vr 304 manual wiring harness, attached to an vq 808 auto ecu.
from all the wiring diagrams ive looked at ive now noticed i have no wire coming out of b10 on the ecu apparently this wire gets hooked up to a neg on neutral safety switch on my vk ive put power to ecu, but no luck getting it on, im hoping someone can shed some light.
my thought is if i get some extra pins(which i need help in finding) add that pin in and connect, it might start the ecu. and in turn i can start the car.
the only reson i have this setup is i could not find a vn/vq wiring loom.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I only have the V6 diagrams but for what you need it will be the same.
Ideally you want a VN-VP auto patch harness that goes to the auto through the tunnel and wire it between that and the ECU harness, there is auto temp, TCC, VSS and the mentioned park/neutral/auto-man select input. All those need to be wired to the ECU.
If not using the VN-VP instrument cluster to reduce the VSS frequency and wiring the VSS direct to the ECU you will need to change the PPK in the tune to about 6400 so the speed is read correctly for various functions and the TCC.
Sounds like you are missing 12V ignition to A6 which comes from the anti theft module. Just add ignition 12V to that and it should run.

Also you mention a VR manual harness. I assume they are the same as VP auto/man but it might not be so be mindful of that.

yes i have all the v8 wiring diagrams A6 is connected to power the difference between vr manual wiring loom and vn auto loom is there is less wires coming out of the ecu eg b10 has no wire fitted on the loom but my understanding is the inhibitor wire needs to be connected for auto neutral / park to start. there is a few wires that are missing from the VR V8 manual loom.
but in saying this i have it in a vk which really does not need it crank over.
So saying that i need to find out where i can get the fittings to put this wire in.
I've been looking at the engine management vr v8 5000,
and the engine management on the vn/vp v8 5000 diagrams. also the helteck 304 connections these are basically the same just a little clearer. and neater.
ive been working on these for a while now but no luck, im now going to try looking at the vq v8 wiring dia. and see what is different between that ecu and the vr v8 wiring loom to see if i can work it out.

I think B10 is for some sort of idle correction. I run VR manual ECU's on both my cars and don't have anything connected to B10. The only difference between the wiring on the 808 and the 8192 is the diagnostic data pinout. VR uses A8 VN uses A9 I think.

Correct! The wire in b10 is only there to make the iac react quicker when dropping into gear.
Op, it has nothing to do with powering up the ecu or making it start.
The ecu has 3 v+ connections so make sure they all have power and also don’t lose power while turning the engine over.

Thankyou for your help I've got it powered up now so back to reading more on tuning up the ecu.
All your help has been a godsend!
