Both of these chips have been identified and are in the p12 and e40 ecms. The main chip is a mc68377 and the little chip is the mc68f375 and we have bdm diagrams for both already.

I would be very interested in seeing these BDM diagrams, especially for the P12. I can tell you with 100% certainty that the BDM pin locations are different for the two boards, as I have compared the two boards and they are different. I have been unsuccessful in finding a BDM diagram for the P12.

Sounds similar to debugWIRE on the AVR micros. Sometimes I get lost in all the TLA's.
